Florida Supreme Court suspends Tallahassee lawyers accused of sexual assault

The Florida Supreme Court has suspended two Tallahassee lawyers after a woman who worked in their home accused them of sexually abusing them.

According to court records, the state's highest court issued suspension orders against Sarah Savannah Warren and Gabriel FV Warren last month.

The suspensions, meaning they are temporarily barred from practicing law, will take effect later this month so they can close their practices “and protect the interests of existing clients,” the court orders said.

According to previous reports, the victim, who worked at the Warrens' home for several years, told police that the couple sexually assaulted her after returning from a date on March 10, 2023.

The Warrens told the victim they had been thinking about having sex with her for months and kissed and touched her, court records show. She repeatedly said she felt uncomfortable, but the Warrens wouldn't let her go.

The victim later told investigators that Gabriel Warren performed a sexual act on her at his wife's direction before she eventually packed up her things and fled. As part of the plea deal, the Warrens both publicly apologized to the victim, who was in the courtroom sobbing throughout the proceedings.

The couple reached a plea agreement with prosecutors to lesser charges, which the victim agreed to. In June, District Judge Tiffany Baker-Carper declined to enter a verdict, meaning she did not make a formal finding of guilt, and sentenced both to 48 months' probation and 15 days in jail.

The Florida Bar is currently initiating disciplinary proceedings against the Warrens. If found guilty of misconduct, they could face penalties up to and including expulsion from the bar.
