LASD asks public for help in identifying West Hollywood murder suspect

Detectives from the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station have issued a police bulletin to identify a suspect involved in an attempted murder in the city of West Hollywood. The suspect brutally attacked three people in one night. One of the victims was identified as Frankie Zarazua, a long-time valet at Barney's Beanery in West Hollywood, who is currently in critical condition following the attack.

Investigators describe the suspect as an unknown black adult who was involved in an incident on Saturday, September 14, 2024, which authorities are classifying as an attempted murder.

In addition to Zarazua, investigators have identified two other victims who were abused by the same suspect. It is currently unclear if the suspect is homeless. Investigators are attempting to identify additional victims or witnesses and are asking the public for help in identifying the suspect. The bulletin includes photos of the suspect.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD), the suspect approached the victim, a long-time valet parking employee, and without provocation punched him in the face. This caused the victim to fall to the ground and hit his head on the ground, rendering him unconscious. The suspect then kicked the victim approximately 10 times in the head and torso before fleeing eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard and disappearing from view.

The suspect is still at large and investigators are asking the public for help in identifying him. The LASD West Hollywood Detective Bureau will take over the investigation.
