2 dead after accident between car and motorcycle in Seminole

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Tuesday evening at the intersection of Park Street North.

SEMINOLE, Florida – Two people were killed in an accident involving a car and a motorcycle in Seminole Tuesday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The accident reportedly occurred around 10:47 p.m. when a 24-year-old woman from St. Petersburg was driving westbound on 46th Avenue North and eventually stopped at the intersection with Park Street North.

Meanwhile, a 49-year-old man from Mary Esther was riding a motorcycle northbound on Park Street North, the agency said. According to police officials, the St. Pete man failed to yield the motorcyclist's right of way before moving out of the way, causing him to collide with the car.

Both men reportedly died from their injuries at the scene, FHP said. A passenger in the car, a 23-year-old man from St. Pete, was reportedly taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
