Angry customer sparks food fight at Chipotle, deputy manager arrested

According to Mount Pleasant police, an altercation at a Chipotle in Mount Pleasant led to the arrest of one person.

Officers arrived at the scene of the reported assault Monday afternoon and found the suspect, Deputy Town Manager Jaqueennia Loyd.

Loyd appeared visibly worried and agitated to the officers.

She told officers that she was working in the kitchen when an angry customer came in demanding to know where the rest of his order was. Loyd told the unidentified man that the order would come out as soon as it was ready.

The man responded by taking the food in the bag and throwing it behind the counter in frustration.

Loyd then explained to the unknown man that she would not tolerate the disrespect, took the food out of the bag and started throwing the ingredients at the customer.

The man then left the area and did not contact the police further regarding the matter.

A witness caught in the crossfire of the incident stated that Loyd was snappy and agitated toward customers. He told officers that the unknown man threw the bag behind the counter, but he would not assume the bag was thrown at Loyd.

When other witnesses were questioned further, they confirmed that Loyd was apparently the attacker in this case.

While analyzing the incident, officers reviewed Loyd's file and discovered that there was a warrant out for her arrest in Richland County and that she was wanted for fraud.

Loyd was arrested and taken to the Charleston County Jail.
