NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski leaves ESPN to become GM of St. Bonaventure men's basketball team

Adrian Wojnarowski delivered one final WojBomb on Wednesday when he announced his retirement from ESPN on social media.

Wojnarowski will leave the NBA world to take the position of general manager of the men's basketball team at St. Bonaventure, where he graduated in 1991.

“It is a once in a lifetime experience to be able to return to a university and community that I love and serve our student-athletes, coaches and the institution,” Wojnarowski told ESPN. “I am confident that I can add value to our basketball program in many areas and open doors for our young men for their futures, both professionally and personally.”

In his role as GM with the Bonnies, Wojnarowski will work with collectives on name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities, manage the transfer portal, assist with recruiting, maintain relationships with families and former players, and raise funds.

Before joining ESPN, Wojnarowski worked for nearly a decade at Yahoo Sports, including as editor of The Vertical.

The St. Bonaventure men's team plays in the Atlantic-10 Conference and has appeared in the NCAA Tournament three times since 2012. Last season, they posted a record of 20-13 under head coach Mark Schmidt.
