14-year-old charged with murder of Holloway Vason in June

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Montgomery Police announced Wednesday that they have charged a 14-year-old in the Death of 67-year-old Holloway Vason by gunshots.

According to MPD, the 14-year-old boy was identified as the suspect and taken into custody on September 17. He is currently being held without bail at the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.

The shooting occurred on the evening of June 24. Police responded to the Roadrunner gas station in the 3400 block of Woodley Road, across from Crump Park and Peter Crump Elementary School.

The victim was hospitalized in life-threatening condition. Police later confirmed that Vason was pronounced dead on Thursday, June 27.
