Patriots Super Bowl winner allegedly attacked 82-year-old man at Planet Fitness – Boston 25 News

NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A former NFL player who won three Super Bowl championships with the New England Patriots was arrested Wednesday after police say he attacked an 82-year-old man at Planet Fitness in Rhode Island last month.

According to North Providence police, 46-year-old Patrick Pass is accused of assaulting a person over the age of 60 with bodily harm.

When officers responded to a report of an assault at the North Providence training facility on Aug. 28, they found the elderly victim with injuries to his lower back, police said.

According to the investigation into the incident, Pass is said to have pushed the man over a training device after an apparent argument, causing him to fall to the ground.

Pass appeared in Super Bowls XXXVI, XXXVIII and XXXIX and started at fullback in New England's victory over Philadelphia in Super Bowl XXXIX.

In seven seasons with New England, Pass had more than 500 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

Following his arrest, Pass was arraigned in Providence's 3rd District Court and is due back in court in December.

The investigation is ongoing.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates as more information becomes available.
