Suspected gang members arrested after fatal shooting of Georgia woman – WSB-TV Channel 2

MERIWETHER COUNTY, Georgia – The Meriwether County Sheriff says authorities have arrested at least nine men in connection with the shooting death of a woman in her home in March 2023.

Authorities believe that numerous shots were fired from a passing car in front of the house during the shooting.

One entered the house and hit Kim Harvey-Pollard in the head as she slept in her bed.

She died a few days later.

“This was a senseless act of violence committed in our rural community,” said Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith.

Sheriff's investigators and other law enforcement agencies executed search warrants on Friday, September 13th.

They seized evidence from suspects and took them into custody.

The sheriff said the investigation uncovered evidence that could be linked to other crimes committed by suspected gang members.

He said those arrested would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

“This sends a clear message to the young people in our community that this will not be tolerated,” Smith said.
