Marquette man faces multiple charges after domestic violence incident

MARQUETTE, Michigan (WZMQ) – A Marquette man is facing multiple felony charges following a domestic violence incident this week.

A Marquette police news release said 23-year-old Adrian Tello did not allow his girlfriend, a 20-year-old woman from Negaunee, to leave his home while he repeatedly attacked and strangled her. The attacks took place over several days.

Police were notified when they were called to the intensive care unit at UPHS-Marquette on Monday, where the woman was being treated. Officers obtained a search warrant for Tello's residence, where they were able to find further evidence of the assaults.

On Tuesday, the 96th District Court issued an arrest warrant on four counts, including two counts of assault with intent to inflict great bodily harm (less than murder), one count of torture and one count of false imprisonment. Tello was arrested on Wednesday and taken to the Marquette County Jail.
