BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma – Broken Arrow police arrested a man accused of kidnapping a woman and holding her captive for five days after a chase Tuesday.

The Broken Arrow Police Department (BAPD) announced Tuesday evening that officers had located a suspect following a domestic violence report.

When officers located the armed and dangerous suspect Gabriel Medina, a chase began.

“After a five-day ordeal in which he held a woman captive at gunpoint, she bravely managed to escape and call 911,” the BAPD said.

According to BAPD, officers were able to safely end the chase and arrest Medina. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and kidnapping, among other things.

“This incident demonstrates how committed we are to protecting our community,” BAPD said. “We are proud of our team and will continue to serve with integrity and determination.”
