24 men compete for Joan Vassos' heart

Former Golden Bachelor star Joan Vassos is looking for a second chance at love as the first lead of ABC's first Golden Bachelorette. In fact, she has 24 chances, with 24 men vying for her affections.

Vassos, 61, a private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland, was one of the top contestants for the show following the success of “The Golden Bachelor,” USA TODAY exclusively revealed in February.

Vassos spent a romantic evening with Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner on last year's show and became a fan favourite after she decided to leave her daughter for health reasons.

But Vassos is back on “The Golden Bachelorette,” where she's looking for a second chance at love in her golden years. She told USA TODAY, “You have to kiss a few frogs to find your prince.”
