Suspected thieves arrested at Centralia Outlet Mall after chase into Thurston County – KIRO 7 News Seattle

CENTRALIA, Wash. – Two suspects were arrested and charged with theft from a store at the Centralia Outlet Mall.

On Monday around 4:30 p.m., Centralia Police received a call about a theft at the Centralia Outlet Mall at 1301 Lum Road.

According to police, the caller said the suspects stole merchandise before running out of the store and getting into a black Ford Fusion without license plates.

When police arrived, they already knew they were looking for the car that had been involved in two previous thefts on August 29 and September 1.

Officers attempted to stop the car as it left the area, but it refused to stop and sped away from police.

The suspects drove quickly north on I-5, exited the highway near Maytown and turned onto Case Road Southwest.

Officers from the Thurston County Sheriff's Office joined the pursuit when they entered Thurston County.

At this point, police attempted to stop the car, but the driver gave up before they could do so.

The driver and passenger, both Tacoma residents, were arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of second-degree theft and organized shoplifting.

Centralia police also recommended that the driver avoid charges.
