Cyclist seriously injured in accident in New Jersey, police say

A child cyclist was seriously injured in an accident in Gloucester Township on Wednesday evening, authorities said.

Just before 6 p.m., officers were called to Chews Landing Road near Little Gloucester Road and found the injured cyclist in the roadway, officials said. The driver who struck the child was still at the scene, according to a statement from the Gloucester Township Police Department.

The child was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said. His condition was not yet known as of Wednesday evening.

This accident is currently under investigation, but no charges have been filed as of 9 p.m., the department said.
