Bob Uecker's champagne celebration after the game is once again perfect

One of the most endearing traditions the Milwaukee Brewers maintain when they clinch a postseason berth is inviting legendary radio host Bob Uecker to celebrate in the locker room. And once again, the 90-year-old was in attendance for Wednesday night's festivities after the Brewers defeated the Phillies to lay claim to the National League Central.

“There is no one who embodies a champion like this man here, there is no one here,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy told the crowd in the Milwaukee clubhouse. “What a role model to have with us every day. Bob Uecker!”

When he was subsequently poured champagne on himself, Uecker reacted with his usual humor: “I peed my pants!”

The 90-year-old all-round talent has been the radio voice of the organization since 1971. On Wednesday, he began the day in the announcer's booth, but left the door open for all of his partners to participate in the broadcast. Lane Grindle, Josh Maurer and Jeff Levering were all allowed to stand at the microphone once during the game.

He now plays at some of the home games, but is still the most famous figure in the history of the Milwaukee Brewers. There are statues dedicated to him both inside and outside the stadium.
