A woman has died in a car crash in Triad, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol officials.

On Wednesday, around 9:40 a.m., troopers responded to a crash in Wilkes County on Greenhorn Road near North Lomax Road.

Officials said a Chevrolet Impala was traveling west on Greenhorn Road when the driver, a person named Kayla Combs, lost control, crossed the center line, went off the left side of the road and struck an embankment.

Combs, 27, died of her injuries at the scene. Officials said she was not wearing a seatbelt.
