DPS investigates two-car crash on Riggs Road

A two-car accident blocked the intersection of State Route 347 and Riggs Road this morning.

The crash was reported at 12:22 a.m. in the northbound lanes of SR 347 near the Riggs Road intersection, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation's AZ511 website. Traffic cameras showed a pickup truck broken down in a left-turn lane.

A spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety said state police were still on scene at 1:23 a.m. investigating the accident. In Maricopa then.

“The extent of the injuries and the cause of the collision are currently unknown,” the spokesman said.

InMaricopa has reached out to ADOT for comment to obtain further information regarding the closures and their possible duration.
