Police arrest teenager in connection with threat at school

JONESBORO, Arkansas (KAIT) – Police have arrested a teenager who allegedly threatened to shoot at a school in Valley View.

According to Jonesboro police, a student reported to the Valley View School District on Wednesday, September 18, that he heard another student say, “He was going to shoot around the school.”

In a press release, the agency said that the school had been informed of the threat and that a school security officer had subsequently contacted criminal investigation departments.

After a suspect was questioned about the incidents, a 14-year-old male was arrested at 6:30 p.m., police said.

“We take all threats of this nature very seriously and will conduct investigations to identify the suspects in these crimes,” the press release said.
