Born in 1974, Mauro Rosales is a Sounders legend who is making a lasting impression in Major League Soccer

Rosales is grateful for his successful career with the Sounders, but he says the “respect, passion and love the club showed him” is the most memorable part of his experience with the organization.

He felt particularly connected to the club’s fans.

“The support of the people, the support of the fans, it was incredible during my time in Seattle,” Rosales said. “Even when I played for other teams, they always showed me love and passion, and that's something I'll have forever.”

Before joining Seattle, he played for Newell's Old Boys (1999–2004), AFC Ajax (2004–07) and Club Atletico River Plate (2007–10), and was part of the Argentina U20 team (2001), the Olympic team (2004) and the first team (2004).

The transition to North American soccer required some adjustment, but the Sounders provided the midfielder with a seamless experience, allowing him to transfer his talent from Argentina and Europe to the States.

“We had a very successful [first] “Season in which we had a great team with diverse players, in which I felt very comfortable in the team,” said Rosales. “The community and the organization also believed in me.”
