Obituaries received after the editorial deadline will not be published in the next edition of the newspaper.

Sending process:

Obituaries are best received via email (and only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) and can be sent to [email protected] (you are also welcome to call us and confirm receipt of the email).

Formatting:

Obituaries will continue to look the same as before, but you will no longer be limited in the information you can include (e.g., you can list as many family members as you like; phrases like “Rested with the Lord” are now allowed).

Other:

There is a charge for each obituary. Prices and payments are only available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For all weekend and holiday submissions, charges will be communicated the next business day.

Exceptions:

All new accounts, out-of-state funeral homes, and private parties require payment in advance after the obituary is approved. Employees on weekends and holidays are not authorized to set up a new account or process payments.

The deadline for this is Monday to Friday before 4 p.m. (holiday schedules may vary).

Submissions that require payment in advance will be processed the first business day following the weekend and/or holiday schedule. When submitting your obituary request, a full name, address and optimal phone number are required to set up your account. A proof will then be emailed for review but will be held until payment is received.
