MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) – A suspect faces aggravated murder charges in the fatal shooting of a 33-year-old man over the weekend in western Hamilton County.

David Vanover, 40, of Addyston was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center at 12:46 a.m. Thursday. He is making his first court appearance.

“…Vanover knowingly and with willful intent used a firearm to cause the death of Joseph Ian Gladwell,” court records state, at a residence in the 5900 block of East Miami River Road.

The charges were brought based on witness testimony, video surveillance and “investigative resources of the agency,” a Hamilton County Sheriff's Office detective wrote in his criminal complaint.

Joseph Ian Gladwell, 33, of Miami Township died from complications from a gunshot wound on Sunday, September 15, 2024. His family is asking for help in finding his killer.

Gladwell was found in the driveway of a home he shared with friends, his sister Stephanie Caldwell told FOX19 NOW earlier this week.

His death was pronounced at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Western Ridge.

Gladwell's tragic and violent death shocked his family, who publicly called on anyone with information about the case to come forward.

He was an organ donor and now more than 100 people will receive his final donation, his family says.
