Collision leads to police chase and rollover accident in Scottsville

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – A car crash led to a police chase and another crash in Scottsville on Wednesday.

At around 3 p.m., Scottsville police were called to a crash with no injuries at the intersection of Old Gallatin Road and Veterans Memorial Highway, a news release said. Upon arrival, officers saw the SUV and pickup truck leaving the scene.

The Subaru, driven by Shelnessa Taylor of Gainesboro, Tennessee, was stopped. The pickup truck, driven by 61-year-old Tessie Stice of Alvaton, turned onto Old Hartsville Road and accelerated sharply.

Despite officers' attempts to stop Stice, he continued driving but then lost control of his vehicle on a curve in the 1700 block, causing it to leave the road and roll into a creek.

Stice was extricated by the Scottsville Fire Department and transported to Greenview Hospital by Allen County EMS, with assistance from the Allen County Sheriff's Department on scene.

According to police, criminal charges are still pending and there is suspicion that alcohol played a role in the incident.
