3-year-old dies days after car crash in Arlington injures 2 others

A three-year-old child died about five days after an accident in Arlington and had to be hospitalized along with two adults.

Police said officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 300 block of North Center Street, near West Division Street, around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 12.

A 2006 Toyota Avalon pulled over to the side of the road and struck two metal bollards and a streetlight after the driver suffered a medical emergency, a news release Thursday said.

The driver, a 35-year-old man, and two passengers, the child and a 67-year-old woman, were taken to hospitals.

The girl, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed, died on Tuesday. There is no current information on the condition of the adults.

According to the press release, investigators are looking into whether the girl was properly secured in a child seat at the time of the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
