Man allegedly drove at almost 160 km/h in Collier County

Collier County officials arrested a man accused of racing at nearly 100 mph on Wednesday morning. Officers said they were driving on Radio Road near San Marcos Boulevard when they noticed two Dodge Chargers driving side by side. Both cars reportedly attempted to race while officers followed them. Officers said both vehicles were approaching Davis Boulevard when they caught up to a car reportedly driven by Benjamin Garcia Cisneros, 21. Officers stopped Cisneros at the intersection of Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Augusta Boulevard as the other vehicle sped away. When officers asked Cisneros why he was racing another vehicle, he reportedly claimed he was not racing. After investigating, officers arrested Cisneros. Collier County officials arrested a man Wednesday morning accused of speeding at speeds approaching 100 miles per hour.

Officers said they were driving on Radio Road near San Marcos Boulevard when they noticed two Dodge Chargers driving side by side.

Both cars reportedly attempted to race each other while officers followed them.

According to officers, both vehicles were approaching Davis Boulevard when they caught up with a car reportedly driven by 21-year-old Benjamin Garcia Cisneros.

Officers were stopping traffic at the corner of Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Augusta Boulevard in Cisneros when the other vehicle sped away.

When officers asked Cisneros why he was racing another vehicle, he reportedly claimed he was not racing.

After an investigation, officers arrested Cisneros. According to the documents, Cisneros was charged with a traffic violation for racing on a highway.
