Sint Maarten: Man injured in shooting

The Sint Maarten Police (KPSM) is investigating a shooting incident in which a man was injured following an altercation between brothers.

Police said officers received a report of a shooting in the St. Peters area on Tuesday. Shortly thereafter, a male victim was taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Initial investigations indicate that the shooting was the result of an argument between two brothers. During the argument, one of the brothers pulled out a gun and shot the other in the leg.

After the incident, detectives conducted a house search at the scene of the altercation, during which a rifle was found and confiscated by the police.

Additionally, as part of the ongoing investigation, a vehicle suspected of being involved in the incident was seized. Investigators are actively gathering statements and evidence to determine the exact cause and circumstances of the shooting.
