Suspect in Findlay shooting charged with attempted murder

The suspect in a shooting outside a Findlay bar has been indicted by a Hancock County grand jury.

According to court records, Marcuss Martinez (pictured below) is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon contrary to a warrant and tampering with evidence.

The 39-year-old from Findlay is being held in the Hancock County Jail.

On Friday, September 13, police responded to investigate a report of a man with a gun in front of Old Stoney Ledge at 752 Howard Street.

On the way to the scene, officers were informed that a man had been shot and the suspect had fled the scene.

When officers arrived on scene, they said the suspect, Martinez, was located near the corner of College and Fox Streets.

According to police, Martinez ran several feet before being taken into custody.

The victim was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by private vehicle.

According to police, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower left side of his face.

The victim was later flown by rescue helicopter to OSU Hospital for further treatment.
