Rob Lowe reveals Shohei Ohtani's amazing gesture when he met him in the Dodgers' locker room: “I can't imagine another superstar doing something like that”

Famous actor Rob Lowe has revealed the amazing gesture made by Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani when the two met in the team's locker room earlier this year.

Ohtani is arguably the biggest star in baseball and receives an almost unmatched level of attention in the sport.

When Lowe got the chance to meet him, Ohtani was sitting alone in the locker room wearing shorts and only his jersey top.

When the host of “The Floor” asked for a photo, Ohtani said he should be given a moment to put on his full uniform before the photo was taken.

Later, during the game, Ohtani asked a Dodgers representative if Lowe would be OK with him posting the photo of the two.

“I walked into the clubhouse. He was alone. He was wearing his workout shorts and uniform top and I introduced myself and told him I was a fan,” Lowe detailed on “The Talk.”

“I asked him what he could photograph. He said (yes) for sure. So I thought he would just get up and we'd take the picture. He got all dressed up. He said, 'Give me a minute.' Stirrups, socks, cup, pants, belt, hat. I thought it was so symbolic of his respect for the game and his attention to detail.”

“And then I think, would any other superstar ever do that? So I go to my seat and I'm sitting next to a representative from the Dodgers. And he says, 'Oh, that's from Shohei. He's texting me. And he asked if Rob would mind if I posted our photo.' I can't imagine there's a sports superstar that would do something like that.”

Ohtani is attempting to complete the first 50-50 season in Major League Baseball history, as no player has ever managed to achieve 50 stolen bases and 50 home runs in a single season.

With 10 games left in Los Angeles' regular season, Ohtani needs two home runs and a single stolen base to accomplish that feat.

Before this season, only five players with the same statistics made it into the 40-40 club: Alex Rodriguez, Barry Bonds, Alfonso Soriano, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Jose Canseco.

Of the five, Acuna came closest to the 50-50 mark, as he was the only one to steal more than 50 bases in his individual season (and that was last year).
