Motorcyclist dead after accident in Tioga County, passenger still in critical condition

One of the two people seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a car in the town of Nichols on Monday evening has died.

The Tioga County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Calvin H. Pierce, 63, of Barton.

A passenger on the motorcycle, Carla R. Pierce, 45, of Ulster, Pennsylvania, remains in critical condition at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, the sheriff's office said.

On Monday at around 8:17 p.m., sheriff's officers responded to a report of a serious traffic accident involving a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of West River Road and the entrance to Tioga Downs in Nichols.
