Steven Lawson expelled from church for “inappropriate relationship”

A Dallas, Texas, pastor has been indefinitely removed from the church he served since 2018 for having an “inappropriate relationship” with a woman, church leaders said.

Trinity Bible Church announced on its website the removal of Steven J. Lawson after its elders learned of his relationship “a few days ago.” The church did not provide further details about the nature of the relationship or reveal the woman's name.

“The elders have met with Steve and will continue to support and pray for him, with the ultimate goal of his personal repentance,” the church said. “Steve will no longer receive any compensation from Trinity Bible Church of Dallas.”
