Nipomo High School under curfew after online threat; officials on site

NIPOMO, Calif. – Nipomo High School is currently under a curfew and the public is asked not to enter school grounds until the curfew is lifted.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office, the school received an anonymous threat Thursday morning and officers are on campus monitoring the situation.

The curfew does not extend to the surrounding area, but includes Central Coast New Tech High School, which is next to Nipomo High, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office said.

Access to campus is currently restricted by police. Students and staff are confined to their classrooms while officers conduct a full search of the campus in the Lucia Mar Unified School District.

This is an evolving law enforcement response. More information will be added to this article as it becomes available.
