Mother dies one month after daughter died in Palm Beach County car crash – NBC 6 South Florida

More than a month after a tragic car accident in Palm Beach County killed nine members of a Connecticut family, tragedy has struck again.

“I'm deaf. I'm deaf most of the time. People talk to me, I can't concentrate,” said Antianette Edwards.

The last six weeks have been some of the most painful times of her life.

“It’s a shock. And the family may find it unbearable,” said Antianette.

On August 5, nine members of her family died when their SUV went off the road and plunged into a canal near Belle Glade.

The victims were identified as 57-year-old Pamela Wiggins (driver), 30-year-old Leiana Alyse Hall, 21-year-old Anyia Monique Lee Tucker, 14-year-old Michael Anthony Hall Jr., 8-year-old Imani Andre Ajani Hall, 5-year-olds Kamdien Edwards and Yasire Smith, 3-year-old Ziaire Mack and 1-year-old Naleia Tucker.

The only survivor was 26-year-old Jorden Hall. The family said he tried to rescue the others from the water but was unsuccessful.

One of the victims was Antianette's son and only child: Kamdien Edwards-Raynor.

“He was funny. He was a daredevil, even though he was little,” she said. “…I just laid in bed and cried and cried until I fell asleep. And that was at 6 a.m. I cried myself to sleep.”

She thought the pain couldn't get any worse until she got a call last week. Her sister, 42-year-old Andrea Edwards, died on September 10.

“We just lost nine. And then another,” said Antianette.

Family members assume that Andrea died of an epileptic seizure, but Antianette believes it was due to a broken heart.

Two of the nine victims were Andrea's 21-year-old daughter Anyia and her one-year-old granddaughter Naleia.

“She said her heart was so broken,” Antianette said. “She didn't know how to deal with reality.”

The family has had three funerals in the last few weeks and now has to plan a fourth. They have set up a GoFundMe campaign to support Andrea's funeral.

“It’s too much. It’s too much,” said Antianette.
