Investigators investigate attempted murder in Suisun City neighborhood – The Vacaville Reporter

Suisun City Police investigators are currently conducting a preliminary and ongoing investigation into a suspected attempted murder that occurred Tuesday in the 800 block of Sunset Avenue.

A social media post published Wednesday stated that dispatchers received a report of a shooting around 8:15 p.m.

When patrol officers arrived, they found several empty shell casings in the parking lot and inside the store, which could not be further identified.

While officers investigated the scene, a 23-year-old gunshot victim was transported to a local hospital. The victim appeared to be connected to the earlier shooting.

Detectives went to the crime scene and collected evidence, witness statements and video recordings from surveillance cameras in the store.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and victim encountered each other inside the store. The suspect pulled out a handgun and chased the victim, firing multiple shots inside and outside the store. At least one shot struck the victim. The suspect and victim fled the scene before police arrived.

No further information was released as the investigation is ongoing, the post said.
