Kristen Bell and Adam Brody admit they've never seen each other's legendary teen shows: “It hurts”

Bell insisted that although she hadn't seen “The OC,” she “of course” had a crush on Brody at the time: “Everyone did.”

Adam Brody and Kristen Bell starred in two of the most popular teen dramas of the early 2000s, but that doesn't mean they're intimately familiar with each other's work.

In a recent podcast appearance Nobody wants that Co-stars awkwardly admitted that neither of them has ever seen an episode of the other’s breakthrough show – Brody’s The OK or Bell's Veronica Mars.

The conversation turned to Dax Shepard and Monica Padmans Armchair Expert Podcast when Shepard, who is married to Bell, asked if she could remember The OK and having a crush on Brody. “I've never seen an episode of The OK” she confessed as Brody and Shepard burst into laughter.

Finding Brody cute was a different story. “Was I in love with Adam? Of course. Everyone did,” she said. “I've never seen an episode of The OK

Brody played Seth Cohen – the quirky, dreamy nerd obsessed with comic books and emo bands – in all four seasons of the Fox drama from 2003 to 2007. When he heard that Bell hadn’t seen the series, The OKhe interjected: “I have never seen an episode of Veronica Mars.”

Everyone in the room looked disappointed. “That hurts,” Bell admitted, while Shepard and Padman groaned. “That hurts?” Brody asked, to which Bell replied, “Yeah, a little.”

Created by Rob Thomas, Veronica Mars starred Bell in the title role as a high school student who works as a private investigator on the side. The series, which was also narrated by Bell, initially ran for three seasons, from 2004 to 2007; it eventually spawned a 2014 film and a fourth season in 2019.

Shepard noted that it was okay that Bell had not seen The OKbut Brody never saw Veronica Mars was “amoral.” Bell added that she was “reluctant to admit” that she had never seen The OK because she has so many friends who worked on the show, adding: “I was very close to Rachel [Bilson]I still am.”

Then Shepard stepped in to defend his wife. “You were in your twenties,” he said. “You didn't watch much television. You were out enjoying your life.”

The same was true for Brody. “I wasn't going to watch a lot of high school shows,” he explained. “I went to Sunset 5 [movie theater].”

However, Bell can take comfort in the fact that Brody hasn’t seen another legendary TV show: The Sopranos“But it's a goal!” he insisted. “I'm not proud of that. That's not attitude. That's an oversight. That's a missed opportunity.”

Bell concluded by saying: “I have never The OKbut I worshipped Adam. Of course. Everyone did. Everyone does. And I still do.”
