Gainesville man injured in traffic accident in Levy County

LEVY COUNTY, Fla. – A Gainesville man suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Levy County today; a Trenton woman in the other vehicle also suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but her passenger was seriously injured.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol news release, the 53-year-old woman was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer northbound on CR 345 at approximately 4:12 p.m. on Sept. 18. After passing another vehicle and rejoining the northbound lane, she lost control of her vehicle, crossed the center line and struck a southbound Lexus ES300 driven by a 61-year-old Gainesville man.

The Trailblazer spun and rolled over, and the Lexus came to rest on the westbound side of the road. The drivers both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital. A passenger in the Trailblazer suffered serious injuries and was also taken to a local hospital. No further information was provided about the passenger.
