Two men arrested after sheriff's department rescued malnourished horse

TUCSON, Arizona (KGUN) – Two men were arrested after the Pima County Sheriff noticed a malnourished horse and obtained a search warrant, the PCSD announced in a news release Thursday.

Favian Dominguez, 38, and Valentin Dominguez, 58, were arrested for animal cruelty.

The PCSD Directed Patrol Central (DPC) was in the area for another investigation and noticed a horse showing signs of severe malnutrition. The DPC detective immediately alerted the department, which launched an investigation.

PCSD has safely transported the horse to a local rescue center where it will receive the necessary care and rehabilitation.

“Detectives from the Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) Community Problems Unit (CPU), with assistance from detectives from the Arson/Auto Theft Unit and Livestock Division, executed a search warrant near 10200 South Summit Peak Place, resulting in the rescue of a severely neglected horse,” the PCSD said.
