The Pima County Sheriff's Department said 38-year-old Favian Dominguez and 38-year-old Valentin Dominguez have been charged with animal cruelty.

PIMA COUNTY, Arizona – Authorities said two men were arrested in an animal cruelty case in Pima County after a horse was found starving to death in Tucson.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department said 38-year-old Favian Dominguez and 38-year-old Valentin Dominguez have been charged with animal cruelty.

The “severely neglected horse” was discovered on September 19 by detectives from the Arson and Auto Theft Unit who were conducting an independent investigation in an area known as the “Dog Patch” near E Valencia Road and S Nogales Road. Detectives found that the horse “showed signs of severe malnutrition” and was in need of urgent treatment.
