Teenagers from Somerville are said to have shot people with airsoft weapons

Two teenagers allegedly shot several people with airsoft rifles in Somerville this week, including someone who was holding a toddler.

Two teenagers who allegedly shot several people with airsoft rifles in Somerville this week were identified and located by police on Wednesday, several media outlets reported.

Somerville police told Channel 7 News that on Tuesday and Wednesday, masked teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 rode bicycles and fired projectiles at people, including one person holding a toddler.

The projectiles were water beads, the WHDH reported.

The first victim was injured by the bullets at the intersection of Prospect Street and Somerville Avenue on Tuesday, WCVB reported. Later that day, another person was shot on the Community Path near Gilman and Walnut streets. Both victims reportedly suffered minor injuries.

The following day, a person was shot in the eye on Broadway, Boston 25 News reported. WHDH said the victim was a Somerville Department of Public Works employee and was taken to the hospital.

Two other people were shot in Lincoln Park near the Argenziano School while one of them was holding a baby.

Somerville police arrested two of the teens but are investigating whether others are involved, the news outlets reported. Channel 7 reporter Steve Cooper shared a video on social media showing the teens talking to police. A teacher sat with the teens.
