Accident on the Schuylkill Expressway: 2 separate accidents on I-76 WB cause significant traffic delays

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Two separate accidents are causing headaches for commuters heading west on the Schuylkill Expressway Friday morning.

One accident involved a dump truck, the other involved a semi-trailer truck and another vehicle.

The accidents occurred on Interstate 76 WB between exit 340A at Lincoln and Kelly Drive and exit 339 at US 1 South to City Avenue.

Currently only one lane westbound is open.

Both accidents appear to have occurred in a construction zone on I-76.

Helicopter No. 6 was over the second tractor-trailer accident and workers could be seen working on a car that also appeared to have been involved in the accident.

Significant delays are expected.

There is no information about any injuries.
