Entertainment gossip and news from the Newsweek staff network

Actor Bug Hall apparently welcomed a son on Wednesday, September 18, and announced the news in a rather polarizing way.

The The little rascals The 39-year-old actor announced the birth of his fifth child – a son named Mark Athanasius Chad Anthony Hall-Barnett – via X (formerly Twitter) with the announcement, “I have an heir!”

When someone pointed out that Hall already had four daughters, Hall replied, “I said heiress, not dishwasher.”

The comment sparked a fierce reaction online, with one person telling him: “I hope when you are old and senile your daughters take you to a nursing home so you can suffer in silence.”

Many X users confronted him about the misogyny.

“This is so sad… men hate women so much that they can't even treat their daughters with respect,” said another person.

Author Ashley Reese also heard about Hall's post and said it was a “disgusting way to talk about your daughters.”

Hall replied to Reese, “They're just angry that my wife's children all have the same father.”

Reese then criticized the actor, saying, “It's not Alfalfa trying to make racist jokes.”

Hall continued to post controversial X-posts and later complained about the birth certificate process.

“I had to simply cross out 'biological parent' and 'non-biological parent' on the birth certificate form and replace them with 'mother' and 'father,'” Hall wrote. “They even changed 'mother's maiden name' to 'mother's previous legal name.' They really hate you and everything you believe in.”

Once again, other X users responded and said he was making a big deal out of something small.

“This is so petty and immature,” said one user. “Grow the fuck up and realize you're not the only person in the world.”

Another made a clever allusion to The little rascalswhich is probably Hall's most remarkable work.

“That’s why Darla left your ass,” they said.

It doesn't look like Hall will be retracting these posts anytime soon. On Thursday, September 19, Hall again attacked X and reiterated his comments. “The dishwashers are making a ruckus,” he said.
