Man charged with threatening Pittsburgh school district

PITTSBURGH, PA – A Braddock man was accused of making threats against the Woodland Hills School District earlier this month, prompting the district to switch classes to online for one day.

According to court documents, 25-year-old Dante Meadows is accused of making terrorist threats, harassment and threatening to use weapons of mass destruction.

In one phone call, Meadows allegedly threatened to shoot ten children. In another phone call, Meadows allegedly said he had a bomb and was “coming up right now,” according to court documents.

Police investigated the swatting calls and traced them to a residence in Braddock.

Court documents state that when police arrived to search the home, they noticed that Meadows' voice sounded similar to recorded threatening phone calls from the school.

Meadows denied making the calls. However, a search of Meadows' bedroom found cell phones and computer equipment that contained evidence that allowed police to trace the calls from his devices to the school.

Meadows is being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
