Art Moore, vice president of programming at WABC, retires after 53 years

NEW YORK (WABC) — It was a bittersweet evening for us at WABC as we honored someone who has been with the station for decades.

On Wednesday evening, employees met for a farewell party for Art Moore.

Art has been part of the ABC family for 53 years. He joined us here at WABC in 1989.

You probably know Art from his appearances on Live with Kelly and Mark, but as our Vice President of Programming, he has always been an important part of our behind-the-scenes team.

Art has been part of the ABC family for 53 years. He joined us here at WABC in 1989.

He began his career at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York, when ABC was still known as Capital Cities/ABC.

He then worked for many years as program director at WPVI in Philadelphia before joining WABC.

As programming director, he was involved in countless series and specials that shaped WABC's identity and the station's enduring relationship with its viewers.

Kelly and Mark will honor Art for the rest of this week, with a special celebration on Friday.

You can watch “Live with Kelly and Mark” every weekday at 9 a.m. on ABC 7.
