Extreme heat at the beginning of autumn

Weekend Weather Planner: Another hot start to autumn

A hot start to a busy weekend in Louisville with above-average temperatures and possible rain

THANKS FOR GETTING UP AND HAVING A COFFEE WITH US. WE'RE ONLY AT 21 GRAMS IN THE METRO. THAT'S. IT'S A WARM START FOR SOME, BUT PROBABLY MORE COMFORTABLE UNTIL OUR NORTH SEYMOUR IN MADISON, THEY'RE AT 61 AND 62, 64, IN BARDSTOWN IN E-TOWN WE SEE A COUPLE OF 64S ON THE BOARD. THERE. CAMPBELLSVILLE IN LITCHFIELD. IN BRANDENBURG WE'RE RIGHT AT 65. NOW IT'S GOING TO CONTINUE TO GET WARMER IN OUR 12 HOUR FORECAST. I THINK THE TEMPERATURE IS ACTUALLY GOING TO FALL A DEGREE OR SO. THAT USUALLY HAPPENS RIGHT BEFORE SUNRISE AND THEN THOSE NUMBERS CHANGE VERY FAST. 79 AT 10:00 AM. BY NOON WE'LL BE AT THE WEDNESDAY 80. AND BY 2:00 PM WE'LL BE 90. ALSO LOOK AT THE SUNSHINE. WE'LL BE BREAKING IN THE SUN AND CONTINUE TO HEAT UP INTO THE AFTERNOON. OUR HIGH FOR DAY IS 94, THAT'S NOT A RECORD BUT IT'S GOING TO FEEL LIKE IT. WE'LL BE SWEATING THIS AFTERNOON. 91 AS THE HIGH IN CHARLESTOWN. WE'LL HAVE 92 IN SHEPHERDSVILLE THIS AFTERNOON, 90 IN CORYDON AND BRANDENBURG, A HIGH OF 89 IN THE KNOBS. AND IN SHELBY COUNTY WE'LL BE AT 90. ALL GOOD. AS WE TAKE YOU THROUGH THE NEXT FEW DAYS, WE JUST WANT TO SHOW YOU THE BIG PICTURE OF OUR CLOUDS AND OUR RADAR. THE SKY IS SO CALM IN THE EYE. THERE'S A COLD FRONT TO THE WEST. IT'S PRETTY WEAK. THE CLOSER IT GETS TO US, IT'S GOING TO LOSE SOME OF IT'S STRENGTH. I THINK WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH. IT'S FOGGED WITH ENOUGH MOISTURE TO BRING US SOME HEAVY RAIN OR STORMS OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. LATER IN THE WEEK WE'LL TALK ABOUT OTHER STORIES HERE, BUT IN THE FUTURE, RADAR, I JUST WANT TO SHOW YOU SOME OF THE RAIN THAT COMES WITH THIS SYSTEM. It's getting closer and closer to us and then it's falling apart. So as it moves in later tonight, we'll just see a few showers overnight and into tomorrow morning. That doesn't last and by late afternoon it'll start to drop off to the south. It's actually going to be a mainly dry day, just a mix of good clouds and sun, but it's also going to be hot, highs of 94 degrees tomorrow as well. On Sunday we expect more showers, mostly to the north with highs of 90 degrees, and then we have a better chance of a few showers and storms, and we need that on Monday. WE WILL BE WATCHING FOR INFLUENCE, WEATHER, AND TEMPERATURES. A LITTLE COOLER, ABOVE 30 DEGREES. ON TUESDAY WE WILL END OUR INFLUENCE WEATHER WITH JUST SOME RAIN EARLY IN THE DAY, A HIGH OF 27 DEGREES IN THE AFTERNOON, AND LOOK AT OUR HIGH FOR WEDNESDAY. JUST IN THE UPPER SECONDS. THAT'S GOOD FALL WEATHER. OUR FIRST DAY OF FALL IS ON SUNDAY, BUT I FEEL LIKE IT WON'T REALLY ARRIVE HERE UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK. THAT'S OKAY. I MEAN WE CAN HOLD ON A LITTLE LONGER AND GET ABOVE THE HOT TEMPERATURES OF THE WEEKEND. We could see that the light at the end of the tunnel was helpful during these seven days.
