Threat against Lampeter-Strasburg schools was a joke: police | Local news

An apparent threat against the Lampeter-Strasburg School District turned out to be a prank, according to West Lampeter Township police.

Now charges are being brought against the teenager responsible for the prank.

The threat originated from the social media platform TikTok, according to police investigating a similar threat against the Willow Street campus of the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center on Thursday.

Police contacted TikTok and Comcast to determine the user responsible for the threat and their location. When officers found the teen, they concluded the threat was a prank with no credible threat.

Due to his age and the charges, the police are unable to identify the teenager.
