Police said the investigation began after receiving information about many animals being housed at the Dunn Road property.

The investigation revealed that there were over 100 animals on the property in varying conditions.

“A search and seizure warrant was obtained for the property and all animals were seized, including horses, pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits, goats and various species of birds and poultry,” Coventry police said. “In addition, eight dead animals were seized from a freezer in the house. These animals were later sent to UConn University for autopsies.”

The animal was seized with the help of several law enforcement agencies.

“We would like to thank these agencies for their support, which was necessary given the large number of animals that needed to be transported, housed and cared for,” Coventry Police said.

Both suspects involved were arrested this week on the basis of arrest warrants.

Sandra Lis was charged with 19 counts of animal cruelty.

Kristal Lis was charged with 119 counts of animal cruelty.

Both were released on bail and are due to appear in court on October 1.
