Two injured in plane crash in Minnesota

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (Valley News Live/KARE11) – Two people were hospitalized after the plane they were on crashed in Shakopee, Minnesota on Friday.

According to the city's Facebook page, Shakopee police and fire departments are responding to the scene of the accident at Scenic Heights Park.

The park is located near East Middle School, which has been temporarily suspended, according to a statement from a Shakopee district official.

“Following the incident, classes and school continued as usual, including regular school closing times. We send our sincere condolences to those affected by the landing,” the statement said.

The city is asking residents to avoid the area around the park while emergency services are on site.

No further injuries have been reported at this time, the post said. In addition, federal investigators will be called in shortly.
