Tyreek Hill celebrates his 80-yard touchdown in handcuffs after an incident with police before the Jaguars game

For Tyreek Hill, the perfect celebration was scheduled on Sunday afternoon after his brief detention on the way to Hard Rock Stadium.

Hill caught a huge 80-yard touchdown pass in the second half of the Miami Dolphins' 20-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. As he began to celebrate, Hill quickly pretended to be handcuffed while staring at the fans in the back of the end zone.

Dolphins teammate Jaylen Waddle also rushed to help, grabbing Hill's handcuffed hands and leading him away as if to arrest him in the end zone before they called off the game.

Hill was arrested by police on Sunday morning for a traffic accident about a block from Hard Rock Stadium. He was reportedly cited for reckless driving and subsequently got into a verbal altercation with police after being pulled over, according to ESPN's Jeff Darlington. Hill was briefly detained by police, the Dolphins said, and then released.

In a video that quickly made the rounds on social media, he was seen handcuffed and lying on the ground.

Miami-Dade police said in a statement that they are investigating the incident. After the game, police announced that one of the officers involved in Hill's arrest was placed on administrative duty. Dolphins defensive lineman Calais Campbell also said after the game that he was briefly detained while attempting to deescalate the incident between Hill and officers. Campbell was handcuffed and charged with disobeying a direct order. to Darlington.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, Hill said after the game that he had “no idea” why he was held down and that he “wasn't being disrespectful because my mother didn't raise me that way.”

Hill was not late to the game and participated normally, finishing with 130 yards gaining on seven catches and an 80-yard touchdown that contributed to the comeback victory, which was capped by a 52-yard field goal by Jason Sanders as time expired.

The Jaguars, who took an early 14-0 lead, were unable to score in the second half. Hill's touchdown came after Jaguars running back Travis Etienne fumbled a ball into the end zone three yards from the goal line. That would have put the Jaguars ahead 24-7 at the time, but Hill's catch resulted in a huge blow.

Tua Tagovailoa completed 23 of 37 passes for 336 yards and a touchdown. Jeff Wilson was the best runner with 26 rushing yards and Waddle had five catches for 108 receiving yards, in addition to Hill's 130 yards.

Trevor Lawrence completed 12 of 21 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown for the Jaguars. Tank Bigsby added 73 rushing yards on 12 carries and Gabe Davis had 62 receiving yards on three catches.

While no further details about Hill's arrest have been released yet and more will surely come to light in the coming days, he clearly did not let it bother him on the field on Sunday afternoon.
