Michael Elijah McCray | Man arrested and charged with first-degree murder in fatal May shooting in Durham

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) – A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting in May.

Durham police said the shooting occurred on May 25 in the 3600 block of Keystone Place. When officers arrived, they found Ricky Nichols Jr., 20, in a vehicle in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Michael Elijah McCray, 21, was arrested in Richmond County by the U.S. Marshals Task Force and charged with first-degree murder. He was taken to the Durham County Jail without bail.

Police said McCray was also served with an arrest warrant from the Cary Police Department charging him with four charges.
