Tulsa man arrested, accused of sexually assaulting three women at gunpoint

Tulsa police arrested a man on Friday who prosecutors say is accused of raping three women unknown to him at gunpoint.

Police say DNA analysis and surveillance video helped them link the three cases to Christopher Rogers. Tulsa police say it was important that all victims came forward and filed a report because it helped investigators link Rogers to all of the cases.

The first victim says Rogers gave her a ride, but instead of taking her to the place she wanted to go, he drove her to an empty parking lot, pulled out a gun, and raped her. That rape took place in March 2022, and the DNA in that case was reported back to Rogers.

According to police, the victim decided to no longer cooperate with the investigation, so the case fizzled out.

A second woman came forward in April of this year and said Rogers gave her a ride but took her to another location, pulled out a gun and raped her. DNA from that case was sent back to Rogers last month.

Meanwhile, a third woman said she was raped in the same way just last weekend. The third victim also said she was beaten with a pistol.

Tulsa Police Lt. Darin Ehrenreich says it's important to get repeat offenders off the streets.

“What we know about offenders who commit these types of crimes is, statistically, they have either done it before or will do it again,” Ehrenreich said. “Those are simply the statistics behind the re-offending of sexual assault.”

Ehrenreich says it's crucial in a case if victims are given a good description of the crime scene, suspect and vehicle. This includes the suspect's height, weight, age, race and gender, as well as whether he has tattoos.

Other information that is helpful to police is the color, make and model of the vehicle the suspect is traveling in.

“Each of these incidents involves three women who do not know each other and have no connection to each other,” Ehrenreich said. “They all tell the exact same story: that he is waving a gun around and telling them to take off their clothes.”

He says victims often don't report rape because they're afraid, but coming forward can help save the next person.

“Regardless of the facts of your case, I think it is important to know that we take every case seriously and will work to the best of our ability to bring the victims of these horrific crimes to justice,” Ehrenreich said.

In addition to the three rape charges, Rogers is also accused of two counts of sexual battery in Tulsa County. He also has a criminal record in Texas, where he was sentenced to probation for drug and weapons offenses.

Rogers was remanded to the Tulsa County Jail on $200,000 bail.
