Washington State Cougars vs. San Jose State Spartans

Friday's game between the two schools will mark the 14th time the teams have faced each other. The Cougs have an overall record of 8-4-1 against the Spartans, with the last game being a 31-0 win by WSU in 2018.

Washington State will rely on John Mateer's strong quarterback play to continue. Through three games, Mateer has completed 52% of his passes while throwing seven touchdowns and two interceptions. Mateer is also the Cougars' leading runner with 340 yards on 39 carries and four touchdowns.
