Setting the stage: Badgers host Trojans and Aggies

MADISON, Wis. — The No. 7 Wisconsin volleyball team welcomes Troy to the Field House on Friday night at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on B1G+. The following night, the Badgers will face Texas A&M at 7 p.m. That game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

1. LAST TIME: The Badgers (4-3) defeated Marquette on Tuesday night in the Kohl Center Classic. After losing the first set 22-25, Wisconsin took control in the final three sets, winning 25-20, 25-16 and 25-22.

2. Full throttle, no brakes: In front of 15,084 fans at the Kohl Center in Wisconsin, outside attacker Sarah Franklin had a career night, recording a personal-best 33 kills against Marquette (33-2-60). Franklin surpasses Badger legend Dana Rettke for most kills in a game. Rettke set the record in 2018 against Minnesota. Franklin also reached the 1,500 kill milestone on Tuesday. With 1,528, she now ranks fifth in all-time kills in program history. Sherisa Livingston leads the way with 1,912 career kills

3. AVCA WATCHLIST: In its inaugural year, the AVCA named 36 athletes to the AVCA Division I National Player of the Year Watch List. Of the 36 athletes, Wisconsin’s Carter Booth, Sarah FranklinAnd Anna Smrek were listed.



4. Maybe call me, Carly:
In a season decision, graduate Carly Anderson stepped in for an injured person Charlie Fuerbringer as a setter against the Golden Eagles. Anderson led the Badgers to a hitting efficiency of .355 and posted a double-double with 51 assists and 11 digs.

5. Detecting the Trojans: This is the first-ever meeting between Wisconsin and Troy. Currently, the Trojans have a 5-3 record this season. In the first game of the season, Troy also faced Big Ten opponent Maryland, where the Terrapins defeated the Trojans 3-0. Troy was picked by the Sun Belt head coaches to finish second in the West Division.

6. Exploring the Aggies: Wisconsin holds a 5-4 edge over Texas A&M all time. The last time they met was in December 2019, Wisconsin swept the Aggies. The Badgers are undefeated at home against the Aggies. Texas A&M is currently undefeated this season and holds a record of 7-0. In their first game of the season, they defeated No. 23 Baylor 3-1.
