Questions remain after shooting leads to fatal crash on Pennsylvania road – NBC10 Philadelphia

It's been a week since a wild chain of events ended with the deaths of two men on a busy Delaware County highway.

Pennsylvania State Police are now calling it a double murder and are asking the public for help in finding the person responsible while trying to determine whether it was a random act of violence or an act of road rage.

It happened just before 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, on the Interstate 476 North ramp in Ridley Township, Delaware County, police said.

Investigators said 19-year-old Clinton Martin was driving a 2010 Mazda 5 when, for some reason, someone shot him through the driver's window.

Martin then lost control, drove onto the side street and rammed 33-year-old Joshua Waltz.

Waltz was outside his car examining the rear end after it became inoperable after colliding with debris on the road.

When police arrived at the scene, both men were dead.

Investigators are now asking anyone who was in the area between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. to contact state police, especially if they have a dashboard camera.

“Even if they don't think they took anything, if we do a check, maybe we can get a license plate. Maybe we can get a vehicle description. That could help us find the person responsible for the deaths of these two men,” said Lt. Jonathan Sunderlin.

NBC10 learned from Waltz's family that he is the father of a five-month-old child and is engaged.

Martin's family said he was a beloved manager of a local Dollar General store. His family gathered with a small vigil to remember him on Friday, Sept. 20.

“He worked his way up to manager. He had his own store and was just a hard worker,” said his stepfather, Fredrick Newton.

His family described him as a gentle giant and a loving son.

“We are heartbroken. We still cannot comprehend that my son is not coming back,” said his mother Constance Newton.

State police are offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
